Popcap Games has released Feeding Frenzy 2 (download free trial here), the sequel to 2004's popular "fish eats fish" game where you eat enough smaller fish that you grow in stages to become a larger fish, enabling you to consume even larger other fish, while trying to avoid being eaten at the same time.
Typical of sequels, this one features more of the same stuff we loved in the first one - the extremely easy to use controls (just push in any direction - don't have to click), enhanced graphics, lots of new scenarios (60 levels), a light but engaging story line, and additional power ups, story interludes and new features such as the ability to jump above the water to eat flies on certain levels.
The gameplay can occasionally get a little monotonous, but it's great for small doses during lunch or coffee breaks, and the game difficulty seems just right. Some of the graphics (like the nature facts at the end of each screen) make the game seem a little oriented to smaller children, but the basic casual game hallmarks of fun easy to use gameplay are there for everyone looking for a break in their day.
Verdict: Call it Feeding Frenzy 1.5, but it is a worthy sequel.
