Tradewinds Legends (download free trial here) Is the 3rd in the Tradewinds series from Sandlot
games. Similar in gameplay and style to
the first two, this is a trading game (think the old Hamurabi games if you remember them - buy low, sell high) set in the
the style of the Sinbad legends, with a little bit of simple ship fighting,
a taste of magic and a sense of humor.
Overall, the game has a good tutorial and it offers the option to follow the storyline of each
playable character, including a variety of simple tasks (e.g. "go to this port and buy wine"), or one can just trade goods in the “Free Trade” mode. This is essentially a lightweight role playing game, with a basic economic model. It has very simple graphics and music, and is quite easy to learn, but takes while to master, resulting in a fair amount of depth in the game.
Verdict: It would be good to see some improvements
in the engine and gameplay over time, but it’s a time tested approach and if you liked the first two versions, then you'll feel right at home here. Get a free trial here.

The key to game is the trading part since you will need to make enough money to purchase additional ships and magic weapons to survive the inevitable pirate attacks. Just write down the prices of the basic materials in each port the first time you visit them – after a few visits you’ll quickly have a good idea when you see pricing opportunities, and then buy everything you can find of that good.
